DMA Announces 2016 International ECHO® Awards Judges

Over 90 Top Brand, Agency and Marketing Executives to Judge Prestigious ECHOs

In a year marked with impressive transformation, DMA’s 2016 International ECHO® Awards are bringing together over 90 brand, agency and marketing executives this summer to judge the world’s most strategically bold and creatively brave marketing campaigns. In three rounds of review, the judges will assess campaigns across 21 different categories – 12 of which are new in 2016 – to select the finalists and the gold, silver and bronze winners. The judges hail from leading companies in the data and marketing industry from all corners of the globe, and include executives from such power brands as BBDO, Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal, Epsilon, Havas Media, LinkedIn, Harte Hanks and OgilvyOne. “We’re delighted with this year’s judges as they represent the best of data and marketing expertise and the dynamic disruptions of modern marketing,” said Tom Benton, DMA’s CEO. “DMA recognizes that it’s important for entrants to know that the ‘best of the best’ are reviewing their submissions. The exposure that entrants gain builds their organizations’ brands and their own personal brands in ways that other award programs don’t because the ECHOs are unique in focusing equally on strategy, creativity/execution and results.”

“Marketers and agencies have responded enthusiastically to the new ECHO categories, affirming DMA’s decision to add new channel and craft categories this year,” said Jennifer Monaghan, Chairman of the ECHO® Board of Governors. “The ECHO Board of Governors has been very pleased to see the particularly strong interest in the social media, display/DRTV/Video and data & analytics categories, affirming that the ECHOs are reflective of marketing innovation. Based on these new categories, we’ve selected judges that are truly experts in their disciplines.”

Facts and Figures on the 2016 International ECHO Awards Judging Slate:

Members represent all major markets globally, and come from such countries as Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, India, New Zealand, Norway, United States and Sweden.

Of the 91 judges, 40 are first-time judges and 51 are returning judges, representing an intentional mix of new and returning judges.

More than 25 judges hold a CEO, Founder, Partner or Principal position within their companies.

More than 20 judges hold an EVP, SVP or VP position within their companies.

Each round of judging will be led by two Co-Chairs, selected by the ECHO Judging Committee. The 2016 Judging Co-Chairs are:

Round 1 Co-Chairs:

Jennifer Monaghan – ECHO Board of Governors Chairman
Matt Leonard – General Manager, Bergen Aesthetics

Round 2 Co-Chairs:

Tina Posey – President, Javelin Marketing Group
Debbie Roth – Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Japs-Olson Company

Round 3 Co-Chairs:

Josh Blacksmith – SVP, Group Management Director, FCB
Chris Paradysz – Co-CEO, PMX Agency (formerly Paradysz + PM Digital)

The final deadline for ECHO entries is Monday, July 11th. ECHO winners will be honored at the ECHO Gala at &THEN on the night of Sunday, October 16 at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA.
